Care & Maintenance

The Spray Box-Truck Mount can be used many different ways, however proper care and maintenance should be given to prolong the life of the product. Listed below are several steps that we recommend following:

1. Freezing temperatures – Winterizing the Spray Box.

Freezing temperatures will cause debilitating damage to the diaphragm pump. This is not covered under the Spray Box warranty policy. Filling the pump and hoses with RV Anti-Freeze, or draining all of the water from the pump will prevent this from occurring. Click Here for instructions on winterizing The Spray Box.

2. Turn off the power switch when the Spray Box is not in use.
The diaphragm pump automatically stops when it reaches a certain pressure, but the pump is actually still on. If a leak in the hose were to occur or the water level in The Spray Box gets too low, the pump will run continuously in an effort to re-pressurize itself.  Keeping The Spray Box turned off when not in use will prevent this from happening.

3. Keep The Spray Box filled above the minimum water level.
Keep the minimum water level of the Spray Box at ¼ full or higher. This will prevent the pump from sucking in air and running dry.

 4. Drain and replace water in reservoir regularly.
The water reservoir should be drained, cleaned, and refilled with freshwater at least once a month to prevent algae and bacteria growth. There is a drain port located on the side of the Spray Box.

5. Keep the water inlet line filter clean and free of debris.
This is located inside the water reservoir housing. It can be found by reaching inside the reservoir and feeling for the inlet tube. With enough slack in the tubing check and clear the water inlet filter from obstructions or algae growth when cleaning the water reservoir.

6. Use Freshwater ONLY.
The Spray Box pumps are built for freshwater use only. No other type of liquid should be used.  This could cause debilitating damage to the pump and hose. This is not covered under the Spray Box warranty policy.

**DO NOT INSTALL THE SPRAY BOX ON ANY TRUCK THAT ENGAGES IN MUD BOGGING OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF EXTREME, OFF-ROAD ACTIVITY. THE SPRAY BOX IS NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE EXCESSIVE BOUNCING AND SHOCK THESE ACTIVITES CAUSE. DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY POLICY.
